So the car was NOT detailed very well. We were also told they would fill the gas tank. Was only half full. ”

“ Truck was not detailed. Very dirty, especially the bed, undercarriage, engine area, under gas door, and front floor mat areas. Cost me $240 to have it cleaned inside and out by a detailing business. I also power washed the undercarriage at my home. Truck was only a little over two years old! ”

“ Update June 2026 In all fairness - once Wes the GM at Thorton saw my review he called immediately wanting to help and solve the issue noted below. His support to attempt to work with a local shop to me - was appreciated. While the problem hasn't been completely resolved at this moment - based on my few communications with Wes, my gut feeling is he will work to make it right.. A problem is one thing - what a company does about it - matters. In the coming weeks - once the problem is fully resolved - I'll update it accordingly.. If current appearances are an indication.. I'm hopeful we'll end with a 5 star review... The purchase of my truck at Thornton Automotive Dover was excellent. The sales team truly went above and beyond to make the deal work, and I appreciated how smooth and professional the buying process was. They had the exact truck I was looking for, and the sales experience was outstanding. I chose Thornton specifically because of their high reviews, which makes the rest of this experience even more disappointing. Days after the sale, I ran into a challenge with a front strut that either was failed at purchase. Before making the four‑hour round trip under the 90‑day warranty, I paid $300 locally to diagnose the issue, hoping it might be something simple I could address here. Once it was confirmed to be a failed strut, I shared the diagnostic notes with Thornton, but the used car manager was not willing to order the part ahead of time. That required taking a day off work and making the long trip so the issue could be re‑verified before the repair could begin. During the conversation, the used car manager also mentioned that the inconvenience was due to my choice to buy the truck from two hours away. I understand the point, but I chose Thornton because the sales team had the right vehicle and provided a great experience. I also would have appreciated the option to streamline the repair, especially since I had already provided a professional diagnosis. Only one strut was replaced, and on the drive home, the driver‑side strut began rattling as well. This strongly suggests both struts were worn as a pair. The idea of taking several more hours to drive back again for another repair is a significant and unnecessary waste of time, and the issue should have been addressed correctly under the warranty the first time. Overall, I’m very happy with the truck and the sales experience was excellent. I just hope the service and warranty process would have been made more accommodating, proactive, and consistent with the high reviews that led me to choose Thornton in the first place. In the meantime - 2 weeks in.. one strut replaced and another on its way out.. not exactly a "Drive home happy experience" ”
